STATEMENT OF ATTITUDE

CONGRESS NETWORK OF INDONESIAN WOMEN Ulama

ENCOURAGING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF RAHMATAN LIL ALAMIN'S ISLAMIC

TREASURE IN AFGHANISTAN

JAKARTA, SEPTEMBER 10, 2021

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim Responding to recent developments in Afghanistan, by asking for help and the blessing of Allah SWT, the Indonesian Women's Ulema Congress Network (KUPI), conveys the following:

  1. We hope that the Indonesian government and the strength of Indonesian civil society, which already has a track record of good relations with various parties in Afghanistan, will be able to dialogue about the realization of a safe, peaceful and united situation in Afghanistan as a result of the syuro (deliberation) process of various related parties, which is based on the spirit of brotherhood among Muslims (Ukhuwah Islamiyah), brotherhood among children of the nation (Ukhuwah Wathoniyah), brotherhood among human beings (Ukhuwah Insaniyah).
  2. Support and encourage the realization of Islamic law that is Rahmatan Lil Alamin, namely law that is mercy for all creatures and the universe, for all citizens of the nation, especially women, children and other vulnerable groups. Sharia which guarantees equality and justice for men and women as fellow servants of Allah and fellow human beings. As Allah SWT confirms in Surah Ali Imran verse 195, Surah AlAhzab verse 35, Surah Al Hujuraat verse 13; Sharia which provides space for equal participation and mutual support between men and women for goodness, benefit and piety, both in domestic and public spaces, as implied and written in the Al-Qur'an, Surah At-Taubah verse 71, and Surah Al- Maidah verse 2, and recorded in the Sirah Nabawiyah sheets; Sharia which provides guarantees of a good life, in this world and in the afterlife, for men and women of faith as stated in Surah An-Nakhl verse 97 and Surah Ghaafir verse 40; Sharia which originates from Tawhid, is implemented with Akhlakul Karimah, and is proven by the protection and promotion of the rights of women, children, and all mustadh'afin groups who were insulted before the presence of Islam; Shari'a that is just, reconciles, protects and equalizes all humans, as exemplified and fought for by the Prophet Muhammad in building Islamic civilization in Medina together with his friends and sahabiyat.
  3. Supports and is ready to collaborate with various parties and various backgrounds to protect and advance the rights of women and children, because the KUPI Network believes that women and men are siblings (an-nisa syaqaiq arrijal). Both are equal wings of civilization that must flap and fly together without one of them being left behind, if society, people and any nation want to achieve justice, true prosperity and benefit, progress of civilization, as well as a nation and state that is good and worthy for all, in mercy and forgiveness of Allah SWT (baldatun thoyyibatun wa rabbun ghafur).

That is the statement of the attitude of the Indonesian Women's Ulema Congress Network. Hopefully it can be taken into consideration by the government and policy makers.
